This is an excellent condition 3rd state butcher cover along with a really nice peel, albeit with one unfortunate scrape.  Still, a high quality specimen of this album.
It's very hard to find better!
Unlike almost all butchers, the spine, edges and overall cover on this one are in super nice condition, except for the 2" split at top center.  The spine is the big differentiator on butchers, most are not worthy.  This one has barely begun to break anywhere, so no flaking and destined to stay that way forever.  Otherwise, just minor wear on the edges and corners.  The back is clean, just light discoloration and still much nicer than most butcher covers.
I can't detect any touch up to this cover, if there had been any done they would have fixed the scrape.  Yet, a little touch up on butchers is not all that uncommon, even on pro peels like this one.  The scrape is very superficial and minor.  It could easily be fixed at a very reasonable cost if desired, as there are restoration specialists that do this exact type of work.
Still, the one thing butchers rarely have though is a super nice cover like this one.
They are rarely so little unencumbered with flaking edges or dark yellow discoloration, tape marks, writing, splits etc.  None of that on this one except for the one 2" split and the scrape.  This cover was obviously handled very little, which is why it has remained in great shape.
It is EXTREMELY HARD
to find butcher covers in this condition.
Not important as this album is all about the cover, the vinyl looks a bit rough with lots of hairlines and scratches.  It played with background noise.  Comes with the original Capitol sleeve.
