    Description

Super Rare Vintage CANON PS-1000 CANOSOUND Projector With Original Box Paperwork. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. See pictures for details and condition.
This projector is in mint condition. It comes with all of the original manuals, dust cover, reel, cords, and microphone accessories just as it was originally sold in the 70’s. I was told by the original owner that she doesn’t believe that it was ever used at all.
The Sound and Image, Compact Projector
The compact type, new Super 8 Sound Projector PS-1000 incorporates a precision capstan drive, the very same drive mechanism employed in high-quality tape recorders. It produces the sound and image just as it was recorded and pictured with the Canon 514XL-S. The PS-1000 features two methods of post recording; sound-on-sound recording and normal (cut-in) recording.
Acceptable Films: Super 8 or Single 8 films with magnetic stripes and silent films.
    Projection Lens: PS 17-28mm f/1.3, 9-element and 6-group construction.
    Projection Lamp: 30V, 80W tungsten-halogen type.
Recording Playback: Playback of magnetic recording. Putting additional sound by over-lapping on the stripe possible.
Recording System: Automatic recording level control with ALC circuit.
    Size: 300 x 292 x 203mm (11-13/16” x 11-1/2” x 8”)
    Weight: 13 lbs. 7 ozs. (6.1 Kg)
This magnetic recording and playback sound projector was developed for the 514 XL-S CANOSOUND Ektasound movie camera, unveiled in 1976. Designers focused on compactness and light weight on a par with silent projectors, as well as easy operation.
Unlike conventional projectors, this model had no reel arm, so was highly portable and easy to operate yet could accommodate a 400-foot reel. An automatic sound-level control circuit (ALC) was built in to allow recording at suitable sound level. The long-life, tungsten-halogen lamp with cold mirror coating, combined with the fast f/1.3 zoom lens, provided bright projection.
A unique accessory to this model was the Daylight Viewer DV-1, a small screen attached in front of the lens for viewing images.
