Description

The most meta of writing instruments -- a mechanical pencil thatlooks like a standardwooden pencil that's actually made from a standard wooden pencil!
First, a jumbo hexagonal cedar pencil barrel is drilled out and fitted witha mechanical pencil mechanism. Next, a brass tip is added for the leadalong witha traditional brass ferrule atthe top of the pencil that includes a replaceable eraser.
The substantial2.0 mm lead yields a satisfyingly broad line and extends with a click of the eraser. A really nice feature is you can retract the lead by turning the pencil upside down, again clicking the eraser, and gently pushing the lead back into the barrel.

Ohto have long been a successful pen maker in Japan, and are very well known there, but not so well known here in the UK. Along with their own range of pens that's very successful in Japan, they make refills and parts for many other manufacturers. So even if you've never heard of Ohto, you may well have used some of their products.
